never saw a shape I wasn't happy to smoke. Especially billiards & Crosbys because they are so easy to clean.

Hey, this thread is three years old!

For the history book, I will add:

Meerschaum with a skull for a bowl (unwanted mortality reminder)

"Bavarian" foot-long full-bent with swing open lid, string tassles, and soda-straw mouthpiece.

Stone peace pipe with feathers (they had their day)

These types are available on Ebay for someone else.

Although collectible, they don't suit me for actual use; especially in public.

The Ropp "natural" pipes come to mind. Here is an example:

I can understand the philosophy behind it--an all natural, back to basics pipe--but between the bark and the flimsy shank, I find I could just save some cash, buy a stem, cut off a fat tree limb and go to town.
