Yeah, that was me. My first bulldog refresh and I trashed the stem and I even did that by hand!. But I was taught a very good lesson by the good folks here. It was in pretty bad shape when I received it.

Nice, mate. We all gotta start somewhere. Learning to buff the stem and shank together is a game changer.

In some circles, a bulldog has to be straight. When bent, with or without that diamond shank, it's a rhodesian. I follow the diamond shank=bulldog, round or oval shape=rhodesian group.
Yeah, I've seen some very old pipe catalogues that applied the term bulldog to only straights and Rhodesian to bents. Can't recall the makers now but 1 of them may have been Dunhill.
