Bj long sells the churchwarden longs, but also you can buy it in rolls uncut, and cut off your own lengths.
I don't smoke my churchwardens enough for it to matter.

Box of regular, tapered and extra fluffy for me.

Ok, I am done buying close to 10,000 or more pipe cleaners so I can tell you the name. Everyone who reads my recommendation needs to put a nickel in the kiddie so I can send my last kid to college.

The only pipe cleaners I have used in over 20 years are the BJ Long Tapered Bristle cleaners that come 80 to a package plus the BJ Long fluffy tapered cleaner that come 100 per pack.

People will think I am crazy but I see a major shortage coming for our pipe cleaners. The government will go after them because people smoke them I hear. No not really. I refuse to run out as I have close to 5,000 of each style and in 20 plus years I don't believe I have ever run out. If I am not flush with cleaners, I just don't feel right. I feel almost naked with out my cleaners in huge quantities. Yeah I know I am a weirdo, I just can't help it.

BJ Long regulars for me. They do shed more than other brands but I just de-shed them by pulling them through my thumb and forefinger a few times. Not a big deal since they are cheaper.

Chenille sticks aren't absorbent and won't clean a pipe.

I buy BJ Longs by the box at SPC. They're available in several lengths as well as extra fluffy, tapered, and bristled.
+ 1 I have a couple of thousand of them, and replenish that stash as cleaners get used up.

Shank brushes can also cut down on the amount of cleaners used.

I use the BJ Longs 6.5” regular pipe cleaners and I was also able to get some close out Dill’s regulars pretty cheap a while back. The new Dill’s are made in China (the ones I had were USA made, grocery store had them for many years) but they claim to be making them to the exact USA specs. Longs are made in USA.

I find the the Dill’s to be a little better because of the shedding issue, and they might be more absorbent. I still buy the Longs because of the savings. I just always make sure I give a good short air burst through the stem and shank before I put them back together. If I use one mid-smoke, I just deal with it. It hasn’t been an issue up to this point. I don’t do it mid-smoke very often. For me the money savings more than makes up for a little lint sometimes.

One thing I have learned to do is actually rub out the Longs cleaner before I use it. I try to get the loosest fibers off before I put it in the pipe. This helps a lot. Just sort of pinch it between thumb and index finger and pull it through with my other hand a couple times.

I guess I didn’t really read all the replies carefully before I posted mine. It took me ten times as many words to say the same thing you had already posted! Lol

Guess I'm in the minority, but I can't abide BJ Longs. Too thin, not absorbent enough, and on many of them, the metal core pokes out too far and scrapes the inside of my stem (especially curved ones!).

Now Brigham... that's a nice fluffy pipe cleaner! Never any issues with them.

Not a BJ long fan either but like them more then my Brigham's which are the only cleaners I fight down about 3 of my pipes and won't even go down one pipe but I don't have issues with other brands and those pipes
