Since I learned on here about washing my pipes, the cleaning has been minimal and they smoke great...a quick rinse with warm h2o was one of the best pieces of advice I got on here!

Although it may increase the number of pipe cleaners as there is more moisture to soak up..

Glad that's working well for you.

After I hot water flush, I leave the airway (and chamber, obviously) to dry. It does. The next smoke starts out fine, but the airway will start collecting moisture, and I may need a run through then, but not always. So I average less than one pipe cleaner per bowl.

I’ll chime in one more time here...

I use the hot water flush occasionally, the paper towel scrub of the bowl, a pipe cleaner (dipped in whatever whisk(e)y I’m drinking) for the stem, and the occasional Q-Tip.
I don’t reuse the paper towel...
I don’t reuse the pipe cleaner...
I don’t reuse the Q-Tip...
...and I don’t reuse the hot water from the flush!?
Some things are, in fact, disposable.
