I actually haven’t ever tried pressing tobacco but it looks intriguing. One question— do you press these in order to then cellar them? Or do you start smoking them right out of the press? And if so, is there a big difference in the smoke?

I press for near-term smoking but also for aging. I do let them “rest“ for a week or so in a jar after pressing, if I smoke any right out of the press the flavors seem somewhat muddled. Pressing in general makes a big difference in the smoke, the result tends to be smoother, richer, and rounder with the flavors more melded together. It’s not always better- I’ve pressed Esoterica Tilbury and it wasn’t as good as the original. VaPers tend to respond very well to pressing, Sutliff Elizabethan Match is one of my favorite pucks. 50/50 GH Dark Flake and Brown Bogie is another favorite.
