It annoys me when people write "wallah" when they mean "voila."
Also people calling tuques "beanies" or "stocking caps."

Well, on my yacht we serve candied puh-kons.My boat has a pee-can for the same reasons.
“Ruts” instead of “roots” bothers me greatly.
“Saus-eej.” Instead of sauce-idge.
I think that's why I am sensitive to it, as I haven't lived in that part of the world for 20+ years. When I go back I think I'm going to go crazy. Or that everyone else already did.Ayup!(Some how that Down East pronunciation is a favorite for "yes".)
Solution: Move to where it's not pronounced that way. I did!
It annoys me when people call stocking caps "toques". Or drinking fountains "bubblers", or a line a "queue".It annoys me when people write "wallah" when they mean "voila."

Sometimes it’s “uh-post to”. I had a classmate in 6th grade that would always say “I’m telling on the teacher” combining “telling on you” with “telling the teacher”.post” instead of “suppose”
Buggies are for babies. You use a cart to cart things around in. ?The word “cart” is sharp and hurtful to the Southern ear... except Floridians. “Buggy” os softer and more fun and palatable to the Southern disposition.
We have buggies, up there, they have shopping KARTS. It sounds curt and sharp, K and the RT.
When I was a kid, everything was a buggy. From the car to the wheelbarrow. “Go get that buggy.”
Now, when I play golf with a Northern friend. They ride in a golfKART, and I wiz around in the buggy.
It’s just about being civil to the ears.![]()
You mean when Brits say pizzer instead of pizza? The intrusive “r”. Makes my head hurt so much that I will not site an example.
No. Buggies are for Amish. Strollers are for babies. Carts are for shopping. Jeez.Buggies are for babies. You use a cart to cart things around in. ?
