Peterson is the only brand of pipes I’ve read someone write that they’re exclusive to. Lots of people love brands of pipes without being exclusive, so this makes me curious.

If you don’t mind the question, can you tell me why you don’t consider other brands?

i like the way they look, and i like the way they smoke. 18 pipes and none of them have any issue with smoking. they all smoke great. ok, i don't like this yr's st. paddy's pipes. but i can usually find grain or eyes that i really like in peterson.

This Joker-esque pipe has me wondering if tobacco can by dyed and safely smoked. I doubt it. But smoking green tobacco in a green pipe seems wild.

Agreed. You can't beat the three-stripe sleeve track jacket.
gotta go to IL for that!

I disagree about that.. I've had a couple cheaper savs and I thought they were junk.. sent them to SPC for credit on tobacco.

And you are perfectly within your rights to do so! Your experience differs from mine, and that's totally valid. Most of the cheap Pete's I've had have had occasional construction problems and just look and feel much cheaper in the hand than more affordable Savinelli's. In an alternate universe I may have experienced the exact opposite, just going off what I've had and smoked so far. I've only owned a half dozen or so of each, maybe more.

for sure man! Just something about the way they feel in hand and wood finish makes me think cheaper.
the tenons are usually some glued in turd and also not a fan of them all taking a filter.
different strokes!

I remove all the filters. I don't mind them, actually like them, but on occasion they fit loose enough to push toward the end of the shank and hamper the draw a bit. They all smoke just fine without them.

I'm a huge Peterson fan and I think they really missed the mark on these. The first time I saw a photo of the new St. Patrick's day line, I thought it was a joke that someone with poor photoshop skills mocked up.
I posted a picture of these pipes a few days ago and no one commented. I wondered if people had thought it was a joke...
