I'm a huge Peterson fan and I think they really missed the mark on these. The first time I saw a photo of the new St. Patrick's day line, I thought it was a joke that someone with poor photoshop skills mocked up.

Some of them seem to have a ring-grain-like blast, but most don’t. I wonder if they’ll get the same reception as the sp.com anniversary pipes.

yeah, the blasts seem really inconsistent, some look great, others look pretty lackluster. All of them are however, marred by that refonkulous stain.

I have a prior year St Patrick’s Day Pipe, I think 2018. It’s a smooth green 05 shape with a yellow stem. It’s a looker!

And nothing says Peterson better than the 05 shape.

Yeah, I don't mind the deeper green stains they used to use on some of their smooth pipes, they weren't my favorite but I do have one of them (A tankard churchwarden, see below). These new blasted ones however, are horrifying. Very reminiscent of the exorcist puke scene.

Certainly not my style, the darker green stains held some appeal for me, but the green on these is a little too comical.

I picked up one of the limited silver cap SP20's....this one, not so much. Maybe better in person....I'm totally down for Irish kitsch on these pipes (I have a handful of prior years) but this seems to fall in a valley of plain meets pea-soup.

I think the borderline neon ones are even worse! They look like a chunk of briar got slathered in radioactive Ninja Turtle ooze.
