Hey gang,
I apologize for the delayed update, but my Peterson Dacula arrived on Thursday. I have not yet had the opportunity to start breaking it in, but I did take some pics to share with all of you.
First is a picture of my entire pipe collection so far. It consists of my Dr. Grabow Grand Duke, MM Legend Cob, MM mini Cob, and Peterson 2012 Dracula.

Thanks Darjones, I am very excited to have this pipe in my collection.
I have to say that the pictures really do NOT do these pipes justice at all. The red on the stem isn't bright at all. It is a deep (almost) crimson "blood" red in real life. As much as I liked the look of this pipe before I ordered it...well my love of the look increased exponentially once I saw them IRL.
In some of these pics, the red looks almost orange to me,and that is certainly not the case. I took these pics with my phone, however, so that is probably part of the problem with the color not showing up correctly.

paintedklown, great set of pipes. In addition to its distinctive color, the Peterson Dracula is nicely shaped and balanced.

Being a Peterson, it will smoke well.

Nice pipe painted! While the Dracula series doesn't ring my bell one thing I really like about Peterson is their willingness to think outside the box bringing collectible and themed pipes to the market. I know a lot of guys have been waiting for the Dracula pipes to become available here. Enjoy the new Pete and let us know how it smokes through the break in.

Cool pipe, you were lucky enough to get a well swirled stem, many I have seen have almost none.

Love the pipe. I have one in the 03 and I hope yours is just as good a smoker as mine is. You're right about the stem color. It does look different in pictures than in person. It's definitely a different red in natural light with the naked eye.
I think one of the reasons I love Peterson so much is that they think outside the box. A number of their shapes shatter tradition while still being a very stylish and classy pipe shape. The series' they do are really nice as well. Like the Mark Twain, Molly Malone, Iceberg, Sherlock Holmes (and the Return and Adventures), the River Collection, the Writers Collection and so on. They make wonderful pipes with great stories behind them.

The color scheme of the Dracula kind of grows on me. At first I thought it was too conspicuously zany,

but after the first few viewings, it's just cheerful. The good traditional shape helps that.

Thanks everyone. :D
I am very pleased with my purchase, and truly happy to have in in my collection.
Love it or hate it, the aesthetics, and namesake, of the pipe are certainly calling cards that seem to have generated a bit of buzz among the online pipe smoking community. It was that very buzz on this forum that led to my discovery of its existence. Once I saw the pics, I HAD to have one. When I saw it in person, I was "in love". Much better looking than I imagined, and certain to remain a "crown jewel" of my collection through the years.
In fact, and I am almost embarrassed to admit this, I like the looks of the pipe so much that I am hesitant to even smoke from it, in fear of "ruining" it some how. Seriously, I am tempted to leave it new in the box, and continue to smoke my other pipes until I can add others to my collection. Sounds silly, I know, but I am considering doing just that...
