Awesome for the Peterson fans. It would be great if they could also stop boring the non-filtered pipes with a 9mm hole in the shank. This would reduce the quantity of extra moisture and make them much better smokers.

Most pipes aren't bored with any reservoir unless they are a system pipe.
Do you have an example?

I don't think of blasts on Petersons. Most of mine seem to be smooth or rusticated, and I think the rustication may be an acquired taste, though I like them. Pete's rustication tends to be quite large textured, and some almost a carved pattern. Like Pete shapes in general, they are somewhat polarizing. I think they look durable and tactile, others that they are just clunky looking. I'll look more closely at the new blasts and see how they look, and how they evolve.

Just ordered a Peterson pipe with sandblast. Not the PSB, but SH line. Do have few sandblasted Peterson pipes, and some do look nice. As mentioned on other post, not really in love with PSB.

I'll be curious when other shapes come out as PSB.. not as interested in the SH line as them or House Pipes either

Want to finish 2nd SH series. Still missing two pipes and lack of good examples in the market isn't helping.

The standard System pipes have good sandblast, as good as PSB, but I don't care too much for their stem.

all the new acrylic system stems suck. They are like biting on 2 tongue depressors taped together.

I do not have the teeth of a horse.

The older ones look a bit more "rounded" just behind the p-lip. While the newer ones more flat? Is the stem wider?
the best p-lip shape is anything pre-1990..
even better pre-1980.

after 1990 they got really round and hard to clench.. so I will say this new acrylic is probably better than those..
but it's just very thick with no contour at all. If you cut the bite area straight across.. it would look like a rounded rectangle.

Too bad it’s only on House Pipes and Sherlock Holmes. Big honkin’ pipes with P Lips... hard pass. Lovely looking blasts, though. If they expand those to some other lines I’d consider buying one.

I have seen the Sherlock Holmes series with a fishtail stem, here in the UK anyway. The vast majority are p-lip but I have seen them. There's a Hudson for sale on GQ Tobaccos website at the moment.
