I have seen the Sherlock Holmes series with a fishtail stem, here in the UK anyway. The vast majority are p-lip but I have seen them. There's a Hudson for sale on GQ Tobaccos website at the moment.

Touché. I’ve gotten almost all of my Pete’s from across the pond for that very reason... there seems to be a much nicer variety of high end ones over there. Still not a fan of any of the house or Sherlock lines. Now, if they dropped a Newgrange Spigot 80S PSB... that’d be a whole different conversation. Until such time... I’ll stick to my Ashton’s, which are famous for their ring grain blasts, and can be had for nearly the same price as many mid-grade Pete’s.

Most pipes aren't bored with any reservoir unless they are a system pipe.
Do you have an example?

No, I was not referring to the System pipes - which are identified as such. Look inside the shank of a non System Peterson that is not fitted with the 9 mm filter. Then, look into the shank of any other pipe you own that is not a Pete. You will see what I am referring to.

I don’t think you have a clue what you’re talking about.

Very nice of you. By the way, you have been smoking a pipe for how long? Obviously, not very long, I would say. To say something like this.

What are we looking at here? A 9mm filter wouldn’t even fit inside the mortise.

Peterson has pipes that they drill specifically for 9 mm filters. They are indicated specifically as filter pipes. All my pipes are Peterson. None are for filters. 9 mm filter won't fit my pipes.

all the new acrylic system stems suck. They are like biting on 2 tongue depressors taped together.

I do not have the teeth of a horse.

I've got a Peterson Christmas pipe, I think from 2018, and I love the button on the acrylic stem. Would prefer vulcanite of course, but that stem is probably my favorite among my handful of acrylics. Funny how that works. I hardly clinch at all though, which of course is a major difference.

Their acrylic fishtails are pretty good. This is only on a p-lip system.

Ah, I see. Yeah, I'm talking about a fishtail.

I don't own a p-lip, though I've been thinking of trying one as a Friday night pipe... in other words, when I start getting carried away and overpuffing after a few beverages, I think a p-lip might help save my tongue so I can enjoy a Saturday morning pipe with coffee. Damn bad habits, wish they weren't so enjoyable at the time.

It does help with that. Keep your eye out for an older estate p-lip. I’ll be honest: some of my favorite p lip pipes are straight. This is the hidden Peterson secret. A straight plip non-army Mount pipe smokes amazingly.
