I hate it when I'm driving and smoking my churchwarden and get into an accident. I hate it more when the air bag jams the pipe into my mouth and the stem sticks out the back of my head. I hate it even more when the neighborhood kids call me "Mr. Unicorn." Damn brats.

Oh, and when people mispronounce Latakia as La Toc Kia.

Anyone who does not agree with the statement "The world was a much better place before the Great War" or some similar insane conflict that wiped out the odd half of a generation of youth! Tobacco tins that have all the strength of a soda can and are hopeless for long term storage.

I’ve always thought of a pet peeve as some subjective personal dislike, usually inconsequential in nature. A lot of people mentioned gurgling. I don’t think gurgling pipes fall into that category. Gurgle generally indicates bad drilling or tobacco that is not dry enough. I would consider it an objective problem.

Now for the pet peeves: pipers, piping, lunting, “the hobby”, and so on puffy

I love pipesnobs. Usually in the snobs verses that anti-snobs, the snobs usually are way less likely to be the ones taking themselves seriously. And, I guess another pet peeve are people who take themselves too seriously. Lighten up. We are all equal opportunity schmucks on here.

If someone says that they hate your favorite brand or genre, so what? Embrace that. I'm glad that everyone doesn't like the same pipes and tobaccos as me. That way, mine hardly ever run out.

Also, another peeve... Who cares whether someone comes across as a "tough guy"? On a forum, what you gonna do, reach through the internet and beat someone up? Make threats? It just makes them look stupid. On a forum the real tough guys are the ones who have a grasp on the nuances of the language... and don't take themselves too seriously. IMO. Not the, I'm gonna bam bam you guys.
Besides, usually if someone has to act like a tough guy on a type-based forum, they're probably really not. Besides, the toughest guys I know, don't have to tell anyone that their tough, ha ha.

This is an interesting point.

I have to second cosmicfolklore on sucking tobacco into my throat.
Just freaking horrible. I try to avoid it by sucking hard a few times into my gums but after a few drinks or couple puffs of that devils lettuce I forget 9 out 10 times. It's enough to make ya wanna Ralph sometimes?‍♂️
But I think my biggest would be selling out of something I've been watching or really wanted. Happens all to frequently. Especially as it always tends to happen the morning before if not hours before I have the funds to procure it. Drives me nuts. In a wonderfully frustrating kinda way.

It makes me feel like I am impersonating my cat when it happens, ha ha.

I seem to like to break my pipes in by snapping them off in my pocket or dropping them before they aver see a match! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! Stupid smashed spine and dead left hand!
And then when I finally get a great clencher - the damn saliva starts like a F'n skit from days long past on SNL and the infamous Drool Buckets - some assembly required!
Someone mentioned being aggravated that someone doesn't like/prefer your blend - To me this is always splendid - This means less competition for my preferences!
And lastly - very rarely being able to smoke at home!
Oh and being told I have more tabac than I can smoke in my lifetime! Challenge accepted! ;)
Happy smokes all!
Happy Thanksgiving!
Merry Christmas and
Happy New Year as well.....
