It would appear I'm contributing to the thread redundancy problem on this forum... *hangs head in shame*

It would appear I'm also contributing to the post redundancy problem on this forum... *hangs head in shame again*
We've had members repeat the same 5 or 6 threads that they themselves started just a few years prior.

In the subway parking lots I try to park near or in front of the exits, even if it is far from the entrance of the supermarket, or also where there are more gaps, because they are farther away and people usually leave their cars near the entrances of the stores. Here, in my city, there is a vicious circle of driving like a blind mule, pending on the phone, music or some undefined distraction. Sometimes I check that the directional lights work well. It's like living on the planet of the dumb asses. You go out on the street to buy bread and you can get kidnapped by a dumb ass. This reminded me that my sister-in-law uses GPS even to go to the bathroom. I've worked half my life with big trucks and I haven't used the damn GPS, sometimes it's better to stop in time and ask, before entering someone's garden or a special avenue for gnomes.

Here's an odd story.
In 2018 I was talked into going to the Best Western hotel in Jamestown NY, my hometown, to a pro wrestler "signing" event. It was mostly washed up 80s wrestlers with faded careers.
Greg Valentine, Rick Martel, Jim Duggan...and several others.
After the event while walking to our car, we ran into Valentine and Mick Foley having a smoke in an ally behind the hotel. We got to talking....long story short....
The next day Mick Foley came to our house for a cookout. :)
I dont even remember how this came about, but he asked where we lived, he said he loves farms.....BAM, Mankind was at our freaking house!!
He ate a lot of food, smoked a lot of his "medicine", and only drinks water.
I spent hours as a kid watching Cactus Jack, Dude Love, Mankind, and Mick Foley.....now they are ALL at my house. :)
Very cool day.
We offered to let him stay the night, but he had to be in Cleveland the next morning.
We thought it would be rude to take pictures of him, but my wife snuck a few in. I will post later when I see her.

I don't spend much time on the South Shore, but up here on the North Shore, "Dude-Bro" trucks are seemingly required for anyone under 40. I typically do back into spots, as far away from behemoths as possible. I couldn't resist this front end in photo from a few weeks ago at Copelands.

My new daily drivers have good back-up cams and alarms, so that helps when I need to back in. No cam in the MGB, head on a swivel. My "swivel" flexibility ability is not what it used to be. Those bullet mirrors are useless at night, so back in our out is always an adventure. The wind blocker that keeps my wife's do looking marvelous is also a hindrance, so I tend to park out int the boonies of any lot.

Hell in a cell, he went straight through an announcers table and wound up at your BBQ? That's fantastic, feeding a meme

Yes, for both angle and parallel parking. Later, as a copper, I was instructed to back in so as to provide for a safer, faster if required, exit.
Same for mail delivery vehicles and soil testers.

Did anyone else have a driving instructor or driving test that required backing in for parking?
On parallel parking only.

I didn't see any mention on the driving manual they give for the test of backing into a stall. So either they didn't know about the practice (unlikely) or they do not want to condone it, whilst not outrightly forbidding it.
There WAS a mention about driving into the stall in front if vacant, in order to make it easier to drive away without backing out, though.

Then again, who in his right mind is gonna back into a stall at the supermarket and then come back with the cart full of stuff and have the trunk on the opposite side and next to another car's tail or nose?

Like I'm gonna back into a stall and then come back with 8-footers of lumber... where am I going to get them into the car from? The passenger's window?

Might be a regional thing.

I've never used the trunk for groceries as there's no climate control back there. I always used the back seat.

Local hardware stores have always delivered. Why risk damage to your vehicle if not necessary.
