It's ok if they can drive. The trouble starts when...

I was watching a thing where someone took their car to the mechanic, every time they put it in Drive and set off, the engine stalled. Turned out, the D was actually O on a manual gearshift, i.e. 5th or Overdrive. This person should not reverse into a parking space.

Tell us you never drive any kind of crazy rig in public without saying you never drive any kind of crazy rig in public🤣

I do it all the time, especially when I’m driving anything the visibility and size of which makes backing out blindly more risk for adversity than pulling out forward.
Even better is pulling through spots to where reversing is never part of the equation.

You should have known there'd be a high concentration of them on a pipe forum.
After the beatings, my plan is to plunder their cellars. You totally ruined my plans, thanks a lot!

Actually yes, I did know. I just can't figure out anything useful to do with all these 2x4s and barbed wire I've got laying around.

This right here.
I like this and do it when ever possible. Other than this, I always pull in head first because it’s the polite thing to do.

I resent having to wait for jamokes to make several point turns to get their vehicles into parking spaces, backwards.
Drives me 🥜 🌰.

I do both. There are a lot of xtracab, long bed gigantor big wheel truck owners around here who back into parking spaces and who evidently can’t read their truck’s measurements and end up occupying two spaces while they go do their shopping. 99% of these leviathans have never seen a payload.
If the parking lot has a lot of mindless wandering foot traffic, I’ll back in so that I have a better chance of not running over them when I leave.

What’s funny is that if the driver can actually drive, it’s easier to to back in and wind up square and centered in your spot than turning into spot nose first.
And honestly, if it’s too tight (parking lots have become mostly 9ft center of stripe to center of stripe for developers to maximize space in parcels for occupancy design requirements) just park further away and get some exercise.

A little consideration (a trait note on the endangered species list) goes a long way.

I didn't feel like looking up statistics , but I know that a higher percentage of accidents occur in parking lots than on the highway . No , they aren't flaming roll-overs 😁 , mostly minor dings/fender scratches .

When I go to Wallyworld , I try to pull through to the other side . It leaves me going against traffic , but I don't have to back up !

I back in when possible, and practical.
I always park out past the hordes.
The ones who should be beat with those 2x4s are the "circlers".
The ones who drive up and down isles looking for the absolute closest spot to the door.
The less time in the aisles, the safer your vehicle, and temper are.
I drive a Silverado 2500HD, with lots of payload hours @sablebrush52 :)
She's definitely a work truck. Its my tow pig, hay hauler, gravel hauler, mud slinger, and date night limo all in one.
