I heard you got hammered and just sat around rambling like a madman...
Now this is probably true ! I rarely drink other than socially, and I was probably feeling a bit too social the whole show :D

I said Friday I left for a few hours, but realized that was Saturday night we went out to Giordanos for deep dish. I spent most of that night in the golf wing between Premal Chhedas suite, Uncle Daves room, and the upstairs Smoking Hospitality Room.

Lordy, Peck, those are just astounding pipes! The Tsuge by Kikuchi is gorgeous. I mean the pipe, Peck! And the others seem to be lifetime purchases, a one of sort of thing.
Just well done. I think at some point you should consider showing your collection to the world. Mayhaps at the next Chicago Show.
What you came home with is that good in my book!

I think there are a couple of others, but I am smoking those now and they are not in the pic. This is most of them for sure.
You think there are a couple of others? As in: you don't remember!

If I paid that much money for each of those pipes and purchased more than ten that would be akin to me buying several cars and forgetting how many I bought simply because I was taking a few out for a test spin!
Other than that... one hell of a haul of some beautiful looking pipes.

Just. Plain. Awesome.
Peck, after getting the shaft last year and having to put off the show last year, you've made up for it this year.
What a wonderful collection of pipes, and stories. I look forward to putting my feet up and listening to them while you smoke a couple of those.

Holy crap that eltang is awesome! I think I have been looking and drooling over it once a week since it showed up at SP. Glad it went to a good home!
It was fun to meet you and some of the other misfits sitting at our table. Hope to do it again!

Even after posting that story/picture of Kikuchi we're still marveling at the pipes. Either those are the most gorgeous pipes we've ever seen or we're all getting really old.

Just kidding. As a Castello knob that #10 is great.
You bastard.
(Thank you for showing it next to the other as well btw).

Holy moly. You have an eye for picking out some beauties. The Castello is my favorite if I had to choose just one. I'd like to see some more glamour shots of that baby.

That's the finest collection of artisan pipes I have seen captured in one photo. I can't decide which one I admire the most, as they are all so very nice.

Never heard of that stem material, what is it like?
I like it, but it's a bit softer than ebonite so you need to be careful. When I went out to pick up my longshank set from Michael he had that pipe amongst the pipes he was working on for Chicago. It was blasted but not stained. Michael said he would stain it whatever I wanted. I said I wanted blackm but I wanted him to try and bring out some reddish tones in the black. It came out more like purple (to my eye) but I am still happy with it.

Peck I am in total agreement with you, I think it does look purple! You had probably better mail it to me before Harris starts calling you a sissy. I know it would be degrading but it is just the kind of cross I am willing to bear to save a great guy like yourself from all that harrassment. No - no - it is ok, I really do not mind stepping up, really!

Trust me when I say that I showed significant PAD restraint. Only someone who has been to the Chicago show can truly understand that statement.

I surely do. I am very pleased that I stayed on my rather limited budget. :puffy:

I did also by a J&J. A great little smoker.
I certainly plan to attend the show again next year. I just had a fantastic time, especially meeting many of the dudes on here.
Interestingly, they were filming that documentary (My Father The Flame or whatever it's called) during the show so that will be interesting to see.
