The 1-Q actually makes it smokable. 1 8 ounce bag to 16 ounces of 1-Q. Tried to trade the Penzance off for some Deep Hollow but had no takers.

The best single bit of information to date was knowing that McCleland's blends were in jepordy long before official word got out. I read it from Sable first over a year ago when the FDA regulations were the hot topic here. He mentioned that he feared losing the small American blenders more than the blends created post 2007. He mentioned McClelland specifically so I started sampling what I already had in the cellar and buying additional blends to try. I feel like I was much more prepared to stock up on what knew I liked when the feeding frenzy hit.

Smoking too much Black Frigate turns you into a stalker. At least that is what one poster thought when they added an extra "m" to a very active members name.

Were it not for forum conversations, I would have known nothing about the FDA deeming.

Warren- it does, but with a few differences. First, never try and ream the bore with a twisted paper towel, and no matter how hard you try, never expect to get a good flowing stream in the bowl and out the draft! :D

How delicious Black Frigate is! I never would have tried it as I’m not into Lat-Bombs typically, and my local B&M doesn’t stock it. Thank you, brethren of the Black Frigate for your insurmountable Wisdom!

My best single pearl from the forum is talk about conventions, and the willingness of some to reach out and make me feel welcome and almost knowledgeable as to what's going on. But many other things, from tobacco recommendations to good banter and humor.
And: Thanks gents above for having the balls to try the hot water cleaning method and then tout it a bit. Glad it's working for you.

I don't care for heavy lat blends either. Seems to overpower the rest of the blend. Glad you are enjoying BF!
