An article in the December edition of The Pipe Collector mentioned that Paul Bonacquisti was closing his shop (Parklane). When I was traveling, the New York Thruway that was one of my regular stops and a great shop. Can anyone local confirm this?
It felt like he just double the size, but I guess its probably been more than 5 years ago. I wonder where the good looking Italian descent waste disposal rep will go. She held court there!Yes, sadly Paul has decided to close Park Lane. It was a great shop for pipe and cigar smokers. Very nicely appointed lounge too.
Any idea when he’ll close?Yes, sadly Paul has decided to close Park Lane. It was a great shop for pipe and cigar smokers. Very nicely appointed lounge too.
I don't think he has for many years. He had a small sandblasted Rhodesian in his case that I looked at several times over a 2-year period. I kept hedging, (think it was $250 or so) and one day it was gone. Matthew Hayes (JB Hayes/Winchester) once mentioned to me that he was going up to see Paul and learn how to make pipes, they never coordinated schedules.Paul is a great pipe maker. Not sure if he’s still making pipes though.
