I wouldn't pay over inflated prices on ebay or elsewhere for any tobacco as there is plenty of great tobacco regularly available from me to smoke. That said, I was fortunate enough to pick up a tin of Dunbar from P&C and will be interested to see what it is like.

Fortunately I've squirreled away all of the Esoterica blends that I'll ever need, so I'm done looking. Call B&M's. Much bigger target than a few online sellers.

As they say....not so fast my friend. I placed 10 tins of Dunbar in my cart at P&C and successfully checked out. Received the notification of the order placed. It still shows as placed on their system. The order did not ship and showed pending for >24 hours. So I called to find out that they actually have no inventory system.
Just be aware with high demand items, when you place an order, they may...or may not have what you are buying. Such a crappy way of doing biz.

Wha-a-a-a-t? They got the royal red hot poker up their collective fundament a couple of years ago because they installed a new, supposedly state of the art, inventory tracking system that turned out to be a bug infested steaming pile of vapor ware. The result was "massive" delays that caused some members here to contemplate seppuku.
They were claiming that they got it fixed. Did they junk their tracking system?

No idea. All they said was it's a high demand item so you're out of luck.
The funny thing is I just received the order, an almost empty box with my "free gift" of Drexel inside...but nothing I actually ordered. If anyone wants it, please let me know lol
I sell online. This is basic stuff in order not to completely alienate your customers. I know the pipe market is supposed to be on the decline. I wonder is it just tobacco, or the operators that are a big part the issue?
Marketing is EASY today with all the virtually free web tools available. Like shooting duck in a barrel. I have no idea why some retailers refuse to change with the times.

P&C clearly stated: 1 bag and 1 tin of the each blend per person. If you ordered 10 of the same, most likely your order was set aside.

There were no bags left. + no rules state for just cans on the website. So not exactly..."clear".
There should be an inventory system that takes care of this automatically. You can set shopping cart rules to limit on. PLace limits on the number of units etc. This ain't brain surgery it's lazyness. You cannot put the onus back on the customer to figure out the stores limitations.
If you think I being harsh, I'm not. I do this for a living. I could have been a snowflake and started a thread and whine. But no, I chose to bury it here so not to cause a huge stink.

Well I will know today when I get home from work as my lone tin of Dunbar is out for delivery according to USPS. No big deal either way as I just want to try it to see what all the hub bub is about. Worse case scenario I still have my faithful ODF to keep me company so that is not a worse case at all.

I'm not saying that you are harsh. Ihad my share of P&C inventory hiccups. I just thought tins were limited too and orders with repeat items must have been moved to the end. I also have a package coming with a single pouch, instead of some bags.

Really Duane? I recall many posts where you state your hatred of Penzance. Example http://pipesmagazine.com/forums/topic/penzance-11-years-aged. I guess the temptation was too great. Enjoy the Penzance/1Q blend.
Personally, I'm good for the apocalypse. I've been cellaring Esoterica for many years and patience has it's virtues with this brand.
