You are the right person for that tin. Smoke it up!!
Maybe a weird question, and I did read your post carefully-- do you like it?
*understanding that maybe can't be fully answered for a day or 2...
Finishing the second bowl, I have some thoughts. First of all - TL DR: I love the tobacco!
Recently my taste changed quite a lot and now the tobaccos I have fall in to three categories:
1. Filler (every day) tobaccos - those are good ones but just don't feel special in some way. Very surprising for me, all my previously favourite Mac Barens, live here now.(I have yet to try Plumcake and rustica)
2. English blends - mostly heavy on Latakia, orientals and periques. This is what I enjoy the most and smoke 70% of the time. The other 30% belong to the next category, which is perceived as less offensive to my daughter, when we chill together at night.
3. Aromatics - this is what I started with, then quickly became disinterested in, because in the beginning it would almost always give me tongue bite and although it smelled really nice, this translated poorly to the actual taste, after around 10 minutes.
The first aromatic that got me back to liking them was Mac barren vanilla roll cake, which I realize now I liked because of the cut - it would burn slower and cooler and I get to experience the taste better. This revelation thought me how to smoke a pipe properly and opened a whole other world of enjoyment for me. Now it turns out I love lakelands... which I would have never guessed, but thanks to a friend who donated a tin of S.V.H. that he absolutely hated, now I am hooked.
Additional factor for me is the nicotine strength - I have been addicted to and enjoying nicotine, as my only choice of poison, ever since I was 11.. started with cigarettes, quickly went to a pack a day. After doing that for about 18 years, the last e smoking over 50 cigarettes a day, I quit in a day by switching to vaping. I vape to this day, since it's the healthiest way to get nic into your system, on my opinion and it's less offensive to people around me. This being said I have a very high tolerance for nicotine and haven't felt a proper nicotine hit, similar to an early morning cigarette in years...
Finally getting around to the Peterson - nic strength and old school "harshness" put it near the top for me, which is extremely unfortunate, since the chances of me finding another one are slim to none...
The flavor profile puts it somewhere in between the first two categories - very pleasant "manly" Flavor , but for it doesn't have that x factor, that will let me recognize it immediately, if I caught a wiff of someone smoking it on the streets for example.
This has to be the longest and roundest way to answer your question but I guess I felt inspired

.
I know that two bowls are not enough for q proper tobacco review, but it's not like I have kilos of the stuff.. i will also try to rehydrate it just a little bit , so it doesn't burn as fast.
