Six hundred bucks is too much. That would be the pipe and tobacco budget for two or three years for many of us. I couldn't buy online at those prices. That would get me down to two or three bowls a week in a hurry.

And I though we had it bad in ny with super high taxes on tobacco. A 50g tin that typically costs $5-10 online is $20-25 in stores. 100g tins are $30+
Either way sucks you guys in Canada get screwed so bad with customs.

The duties or tariffs are bad enough but the price to buy in Canada is just as ridiculous. (was quoted anywhere from $39-42 for a 2oz tin from stores in Ontario and Nova Scotia). To add further insult to injury, I live in New Brunswick (very rural) and tobacconists are rare if not extinct! Canada does not allow cross border sales of tobacco from other B&Ms or retailers. So, I would have to drive about 5 hours to get to the closest decent B&M to pick up a decent selection AND at that would be paying $40 a tin. Yikes!
