I am amazed at the number of people who thrive on one blend, particularly farmers in the region. I smoke three blends regularly (Pease's Six Pence and Stonehenge as well as C&D's Mad Fiddler). I have three others that I smoke occasionally, Pease's Windjammer and Windjammer and Mac Baren's HH Rustica.
I I was forced to choose just one, Sixpence would be on the consideration list for sure.

…..which is a bit of a new experience for me.
I think that right there is what keeps me so attracted to the pipe.
Even revisiting old blends I’ve had, but not lately, can be a new experience, let alone the vast selection of blends available (even within each genre).

Not a chance. When it comes to whisky, wine, cigars and pipes/baccy i love to ruminate on the variety before making a choice. There's something for every time of day, special occasion, type of meal, etc.

When it come to food: animal products only. At least i keep one thing simple. ;)

It’s seems to me that “one blend folks” was during a time when folks either didn’t have extra income to delve into variety or they are folks that truly singularly love one specific blend of 🍂. Fortunately, I’m neither one of these examples.
For me at least, I’ve been smoking mainly Haunted Bookshop, Opening Night, Cobblestone Hiking, Rouxgaroux & St. Bruno RR for the last 2-3 months. If I was forced to pick ONE blend to solely smoke…Haunted Bookshop of course would be satisfyingly enough for me. ☕

I vary my tobacco, but not by much. Maybe a dozen types that I have in bulk (~5-10 lbs each)and continually rotate as my everyday go-to....and I'll usually try one new tin each month or two.

But, I'll smoke the same 2-3 tobaccos for up to 3-6 months at a time.

However, one thing I am a stickler about is.....if I open it, I smoke it until it is gone. Unless it is so unappealing that I can't finish, but that has never happened before. If it is opened, it stays in my daily rotation until it is gone.

Pipe Dreamer and Star Gazer
What might that one primary Blend be Partner?
It is a blend developed for me by the late great John Dengler of J. Dengler pipes in St. Charles, Missouri. I originally tried to create a pipe blend based on Tinder Box's Crown Royal which we now know is Peter Stokkebye Vanilla Creme. John worked with me and eventually we created a blend I call...Telescopes. It is 4 parts Lane BCA and 1 part Sutliff Nougat. That was 40 years ago. I have probably 20 plus pounds of it jarred up and waiting. That said, I do have many other blends that I've cellared, just because. But they are almost all one and done purchases. I have made several variations of this blend, but the one listed above is my go to on any given day. This isn't for everybody, having only one main blend, but hey, why not.

Well, when I first transitioned from cigars to pipes I spent about a year trying about 100 different blends and types. I also acquired a number of pipes. As my preferences became clear, I actually narrowed down to 2 blends and ultimately a single pipe. I still have all of the blends I sampled in case I ever want to taste them again. I have a box of pipes in case I ever want to go back to a briar. My two blends have become one for the last year. Every now and then I think my next bowl might be to go get something else...and then I decide to have one more of my favorite first. I got here honestly...but this is where I am. One pipe, one blend with a solid backup every couple of months. Both straight VAs.

But are they Bacon cheeseburgers?
Can't eat pork, really wasn't a fan prior to realizing that i was allergic to it. I often have fried eggs on them though.

to be completely monogamous?
I trade everything I have for equal pounds of Yenidje. The main reason I smoke other tobaccos is to keep from depleting my supply.

But you do step out on Yenidje?!! We all have our excuses.... Just sayin'
Only to keep from totally consuming it. Come to think of it, it's been all I've smoked over the past few weeks. Once it is gone I'll likely give up pipe smoking and convert what I can of my remaining tobacco to RYO shag and ribbons. All other tobacco just doesn't sing like Yenidje does in a pipe but I do still have just under 40 pounds of it. Then again, Yenidje also makes an amazing cigarette.

T-minus 36 months?

Despite understanding, this makes me a sad panda.
