Since bitching is a major component of the Interweb's fabric, I finally felt compelled to throw a few rocks.

I ordered seven tins of Peterson's Irish Flake and ten packs of tapered pipe cleaners this past Monday afternoon from Smokingpipes.com.

The story ---

Not trusting electrons with money as a categorical thing, I didn't click order, but picked up the phone.

A real human answered on the second ring.

She had my buying history instantly at hand on a screen in front of her, and with Old School smoothness and grace took my order, confirmed everything that needed confirming, and finished with "It's past the deadline to go out with tonight's shipment, but I'll do what I can." She had a lovely laugh. Her efficiency and charm was memorable.

An email confirmation of the transaction & receipt appeared in my inbox five minutes after ringing off.

Another confirming physical shipment followed three hours later, meaning my stuff HAD made that day's truck.

The UPS delivery info page said it would arrive by 9:00pm tonight, but it landed in my porch locker at noon.

Very well packed, everything there, paper receipt enclosed.

So... all would seem to be OK, right? Unusually good, even...

EXCEPT the tins were advertised as circular, when measurement with a dial caliper showed there was an average deviation of NINE THOUSANDTHS OF AN INCH from a perfect circle among the seven tins.

They advertised the damn things as round and they are NOT round, in other words.

So...

A law firm has been engaged and the Supreme Court awaits, I can assure you of that.

And the maker of the tins will be brought to account as well as their seller.

The end.

[Man, oh man, am I pissed off... It's rage, I say... true rage!]

Thank God it was somewhat circular. Can you imagine what needs to be done if it was rectangular? All hell will break loose!!!

You've taken my drunken ass down a rabbit hole, and given me a headache before my hangover kicks in. Words, words, words... Edit: I do find your posts to be funny, entertaining, and educational.
Circles are round, or not

I’m willing to bet that they aren’t made from tin, either.
