@owen - thanks for the bump. That was my first ever post on this site; 746 since then, including this one!
The Dunhill has turned out wonderfully, but it's been a journey. It burns very hot if you're not careful and slid down the list of my top 10 smokers until it languished behind some Stanwells, Charatans, and even a couple of cobs! However, once I worked out how to get the bowl heat under control and stopped obssessing about protecting the Dunhill from any and every possible form of damage, we started to turn it around. The Dunhill is now back in my regular rotation. I love smoking that pipe because it is so smart and so classic, drawing more comments than all of my others combined. It's particularly good with English and Balkans/Orientals, so those are about all it gets. I've come very close to buying another couple of smaller Dunnies over the past 6 months but - as recommended by some above - I now have a few artisan pipes and I'm growing more in that direction. Time will tell. Thanks again for the interest.
