Wonderful looking pipe, and glad to hear that you enjoy it. Welcome to the forums, this place is wonderful. I have yet to buy a Dunhill, as I too look from afar. That and I never seen one in person. :D

Congratulations! That's a beautiful pipe.
I was in London over the past weekend, meant to visit the Dunhill shop, but didn't get a chance. Woe!

Great comments guys. Stig thanks so much for making the pics available. Shame you can't improve my rubbish photography! Mountainman you are absolutely right. For years I puffed away now and then on my lovely old Peterson - no concept of breaking in or rotation or even the whole pipe scene. Now I can't get enough of it!

I wont lie, I'm slightly envious of all Dunhill owners. I could probably manage an estate Dunhill for my first though.

Good for you! I bought a couple of Dunhills myself recently. I got tired of folks saying this or that pipe was "as good as a Dunhill". That to me says Dunhill sets the standard.

Hi Andy: The 4103 Bruyere is a great smoking Dunhill shape. My favorite is the 4303, which is longer and slimmer. Expect the taste to improve considerably after 4-5 smokes, that is what it usually takes with the Bruyere finish. And until it is very well broken in Latakias will taste better in it than subtle tasting smokes such as Vapers. I am sure you will love the pipe and wish you many happy years of smoking.

Cheers Foggy - looking forward to the experience. I received my first tin of American tobacco today - GL Pease Chelsea Morning - so I'm trying that out right now. Really like it. I usually go for Dunhill London mixture so thought I'd try something different but not too dissimilar. Could be a keeper. Anyone got any views or advice?

Hi Andy,
GREAT pipe. I'm sure you'll be happy with it for many years to come.
If it were me, I wouldn't worry about trying different new tobaccos in a new, high end pipe. I would concentrate on breaking it in with my go-to favorite (in my case, it's 221b:Arcadia); see how a taste and consistency with which you're familiar appears in the new pipe.
Just a suggestion but whichever way you go you'll have many good smokes ahead of you.
JJ

Thanks JJ - great advice. One thing with the Chelsea Morning - I don't know whether I smoked too fast (greedy boy) or what but the nicotine hit at the end nearly did for me! Gods but I nearly fainted! And I'm 5'10" and 200 lbs. Not pretty...

I'm hoping to stumble across one at an antique store one day. That is a beautiful pipe man!

Dunhill's are expensive, but you could do far worse with those hundreds, like throw them at the owners

of some casino for a few days of dreams. Your Dunhill be will in the rack, ready to be packed, for the rest

of your life. Amortized over the years, it isn't so much. Pleasant smoking. And I don't think it will shame

your other pipes so much. I don't have a Dunhill, but with my Ser Jacopo, I still enjoy my Yello-Bowl.
