Sablebrush, that pipe is beautiful! Owning a quality pre-1900 pipe is definitely in my plans. I would love to smoke a piece of history :puffy:

Tuold, that's cool, our pipes are old cousins. A pipe is like a little time machine, every time I light up a bowl in my old C.P.F. I think about all of the men who must have enjoyed that same chunk of briar for over 100 years.

I have a dozen Custom-Bilts on my rotation. I guess they're at least 70 years old.

The Sterling capped Barling is pretty awesome.

I'm in awe.
I still smoke my first pipe purchased: a middle of the road, circa 1973 GBD model - but I do appreciate the respect shown for these old soldiers.
Sallow, your Pete makes my knees weak. (I'm a sucker for a well made billiard or Canadian.) Yet, I feel the same way about your Vintage Pete bent stem, Jpmcwjr.
Thank you all for sharing your thoughts and these pix.

Gorgeous pipe and photos. Did you take them? If so, you ought to put up a tutorial!

Another photo of my BBB Own Make (TOP) with my GBD Extra Dry (MIDDLE) I could date the GBD before the BBB cause Xtras haven't been made since the 1930's, but neither of them care, they smoke great for me

That's a 1989 ASPC (Rollar) on the bottom

All beautiful Pipes. Sable that Barling is exquisite!!
My oldest pipe is a 1905 Cutty I was able to purchase from Condorlover1!! I smoke it almost daily and find it to be a very good smoker. I love to think of the things it has seen over the years. When it was made many ships still used sails, two World wars....it blows my mind a little! I will post a picture later today.

I have a Comoy's Bulldog that I believe was made sometime between 1945-55. That's as close as I've been able to date it.

The oldest pipe I have, family lore puts it mid-19th century... I'm not precisely sure... is this baby:

It's a bit too fragile to smoke though... it's one of the very few things I consider an actual heirloom here.
I have fantasies of some day owning a 1956 birth year Dunhill... maybe even in its original case! Pipedreams!

Pitchfork, unable to post a pic due to technical incompetence. But some Salmon & Gluckstein trivia-due to the ubiquity of that tobacconist chain a century ago, Sherlock Holmes was noted in a tale or 2 as doing his shopping @ a S&G shop.

On special occasions I smoke my earliest pipe which is from the Anthropocene epoch, carved by a Michael Parks.
