Interested to see where this thread goes. My grandfather smoked a small cigar on the porch every night after dinner well into his mid 80s. Passed at 89- Life long railroad man and WW2 Navy vet.
My thoughts personally is that the stress mitigated by an occasional weekly pipe far outweighs any minor tobacco health risk. Stress will kill me before pipe tobacco will.

I'm not counting down but I really could use the money. Why not just dole some out now?

I'll be 75 in early February and I'll smoke til I die. My age may be a way to get into the 20% of the group but just barely.

From what I can see most young people just don't have the patience to smoke a pipe. They are looking for instant gratification and a buzz.

The pipe takes only a minute or two to load and then the nic hit. Not much different than aq cigar or cigarette. Certainly faster than a chaw. For me anyway.
