Do you guys use your Old Boys for more than pipes? Also, do you keep it in the little sleeve it comes with, or just throw it in your pocket?

Not sure if this would effect your decision but my old boy was taken apart completely by my five year old and I sent it in paid $5.00 US and it was cleaned, reassembled and works better than ever. I think some parts were even upgraded. I know the newer ones are actually better built than the originals. I have spend $120.00 on much dumber things.

I'm prone to losing the darn things. My new one stays on the side table by my easy chair. I love these lighters and they seem worth the cost if you shop around. I bought my latest at my local B&M for $105.00. In my car I use stick matches for the charring light and a Zippo after. If I smoke outside on the patio, I go to my car to get the matches and Zippo. In my golf bag, I keep a Bic for cigars. These are the only places I need flame and it's worked well...no loss.

In the recent past, Corona upgraded the Old Boy, based on feedback from retailers. More brass parts and silicone seals were part of that upgrade.
