While perusing some aspects of the 1960s British Psychedelia group, “Small Faces” I read about how one of their album covers was a parody of a popular pipe tobacco of the time.

In further exploration, I found that this pipe tobacco’s name has morphed due to various regulations in England for naming tobacco products and is now called “Ogden’s Original Flake”.

I write the above with the question in mind….. has anyone here ever tried a tin of Ogdens’ Original Flake, and if so, what was your opinion?

My phone is acting up, so I cannot post a photo. If I can fix this, I will post a photo of the pipe tobacco as well.

It appears the name change was only for pipe tobacco sold in the UK. It may still go by its original name here in the US and elsewhere….. Ogdens’ Walnut Flake.

Pouches of the current production, made by Mac Baren/ Scandinavian are available in the UK and I've never seen it for sale outside the UK by any other name. It's quite good though it's not terribly similar to the original Walnut, at least the Walnut Plug I've tried. The Small Faces are quite good ... Tin Soldier, Itchycoo Park..
