Quite of few of you around here are probably familiar with some of my dubious projects. But these seem to be some of the worst I've tried to bring back to life, and succeeded for the most part. Not all are high end pipes either. Go figure, I'm a glutton for punishment I guess.

1950 Dunhill, how this happened I can't even imagine.

Vegas Baby!!!
A delightful idea for a thread--thank you mikethompson! At least from what I've seen on Ebay in recent months, I suspect Dunhill is going to be the hands down winner for incinerated, well-chewed wrecks covered in fowl smelling filth presented as rare collectibles in auctions with ludicrously high opening bids, or let us say optimistic buy-it-now prices.

My own favorite is this sad case, a dark root 1936 pot missing its stem:

Of course what makes it potentially interesting--at least for a master restorer such as georged--is that it appears to have a Vernon tenon with all four of its prongs that might be salvaged to repair another pipe. This even if this one is both stemless and totally toast.

Here’s a 1963 that was plugged and rescued. George Made the new stem.

I'm gonna use this thread as a confessional - fellow pipers please forgive me as I once exchanged a portion of my not so well performing tobacco of mediocre quality for another's of excellent smokability - shame on me ??

as an FYI - always check Negative ebay feeback - on one ebayers it said something like "the late arrival cannot be blamed on the seller but the CRACKED bowl is surely his fault"

I had an ebay vendor tell ME the 904s were made with short crowns one year due to lack of large briar availability.

Warning. You keep posting these and I'm going to end up buying one.

The worst offenders I've seen have been cobs. The percentage of markup on some of those old crusty burnouts just cause they are vintage is hilarious.
