simenon, very well put. Rich's post may not have been the smartest move, but I respect the guy for having the balls to put his opinions out there. Penalizing the guy for being honest only shows how intolerant some people are.
Rich, you have my respect and my continued patronage.

Ok I know beforehand I should let this die. However I state I wish Rick the best, but won’t be shopping there anymore. Admit up front that he does so well he wont even notice my money gone. And then get called a Child, Immature, taking my ball and going home, chopping of my nose to spite my face. Yet I am the one being intolerant. I needed a laugh today, so thanks! For those keeping score at home .............
Wont shop at a establishment when there are many choices, that wont effect the establishment = Intolerant
Name calling and (albeit superlight) insults = Tolerant
Again thanks for the chuckles.

Good ole' Mike Bloomberg. That guy is a nut. From banning sugary drinks, to his anti-firearms views, and now this. Kinda glad I don't live in NYC. Last time I was there a pack of cigarettes (Newports) was $12.

Here's a thought: If we're considering the proprietor's political views, and voting with our wallets, I hope you aren't shopping at Wal-Mart's and buying all those Chinese goods.

I shop for good prices, not political ideology. To comment on the the thread topic they've done this where I live already and surprise, it hasn't affected the smoking rate. It's not like people go to the store to buy a pack of smokes and then forget because their hidden. Now the next step they're taking is banning tobacco sales in any store that has a pharmacy, so soon a store will have to decide if they want to provide tobacco sales or have a pharmacy. Soviet canuckistan, it's a hell of a place

You can find good things about Bloomshot, as you can about anyone, even Hitler. The fact is the little fellow does not understand his own job. His job is not to harass us about soda, tobacco and driving in Manhattan. His job is to secure a viable future for the operation of our city. In ignoring the threats (and now, reality) of our city flooding and one day remaining under water, he is disregarding those obligations in favor of mere decoration. His nice little traffic lights with signals for bicyclists to disregard will do us a lot of good when the city is flooded as Venice. Where are the plans for dikes, a seawall or other protective measures? There are none. But the hypocrisy of Bloomschtick is what tells the truth about him. While he pretends to be concerned with emissions, he maintains his own fleet of planes and helicopters to commute to his weekend homes, polluting our city for his egotistical rich man indulgences. May he meet the fate he deserves. Things do not look so good for our city or our country when the best we can come up with are Bloomberg & Obama.

Really not a big deal to me, tobacco products have been concealed in my province for at least 10 years, just the way it is. All you have to do is ask to see and they open the curtains or whatever its concealed behind. Its shocking to me when I am reminded the States don't have tobacco products concealed, or that you can buy liquor in many regular stores, here its only in liquor stores that you can buy any alcohol. It also shocks me when I think about how the States don't have free health care, I can never wrap my head around why people are against it (other than higher tobacco prices ;) ). But, we're different countries and we definitely don't need to be the same.
