Im in love with the idea of pipe smoking as a hobby , as a treat ,and many great things about it. As a person from overseas i buy everything pipe related online , what ticks me of is the idea of such a great site such as pipesandcigars.com and the way they they handle international customers , you cant buy stuff on the website unless you have an american credit card , i understand security and over 18 smoke limits , but how can you help us the international buyers. I for example live in central america and my shipping adress is in a shipping company in florida , since their software cant verify im an 30 year old man , im stuck buying on other sites wich are not bad . help us out here !!

I don't think I've ever seen one man asked to fix so many things. And while you're at it fix the budget deficit. And global warming. And why doesn't YouTube keep playing when I leave the app?

Hey blackhat84. Welcome to the forums.
Have you had a chance to contact Pipes and Cigars Customer Service department? What did they have to say?

Russ doesn't own the company. I'm quite certain that STG's international sales policies are set a couple of pay grades above him, by guys in Euro suits with funky haircuts and unidentifiable accents, eating pickled herring while sitting on Ikea couches in glass-walled offices overlooking a fjord or something.
My guess is that their shipping policies involve preserving the sanctity of their international distribution structure.
Just wait until STG buys Savinelli and Mac Baren!

if i didnt have a sense of humour about forums and people being dicks sometimes , id be fighting with mrjerke, i cant fix global warming and deficit problems , what i can recomend you is an app called viral for android phones , it lets you use youtube while doing other things. if i post things related to oversea customers its cause sometimes its a bit hard to get things in our countries
as for the rest of the post thanks for clearing it out guys , apparantly pipeandcigars doesnt do international very well , thinking of going to bosswells also ,..

I can't help with anything concerning the overseas shipping but I'm still trying to wrap my head around the Canadian/Mexico thing. I find it odd that trucks can roll from Mexico northward into Canada but we can't mail a little pipe tobacco? As Bugs Bunny used to say, 'what a bunch of maroons'.

@woodsroad, I'm inclined to believe your take on the behind-the-scenes players. "Overlooking a fjord or something." Lol. Classic.

There are a number of reasons why the decision was made to discontinue international shipping. I'm not privy to all the discussion, but I know that it's an ongoing conversation. I'm sorry that people are disappointed, but the people eho make those choices have to consider a lot of factors when it comes to decisions of this sort. Yes, it's above my pay grade, but I pass along your thoughts. If a way can be figured to make everyone satisfied, we'll do it.

i must say im impressed how the forum has answered , especially Russ , by what he said , at least it shows , he knows the problems and tries to put himself in our perceptive , but as he also said , its a power above him , and those guys as long as the money is in , relay wont change anything. Russ thank you for posting. will keep waiting for the day you go international
will wait but wont stop the quest :puffpipe:
well as mrmotoyoshi and murf said, 4noggins and smokingpipes are available for us internationally , well see how they are , ive only bought from boswells and cupojoes which are pretty good , they don't have much bargains but they do their job and are nice people.
as for trailboss , as for customer service , to be honest they dont really know what to say , only the fact that their sorry, oh well , gotta keep moving and keep living and take a pipe along the way !! 8)

With 3-4 different companies willing to ship internationally, I don't go complaining about it with the prices at home. Pipes and Cigars did ship internationally but recently stopped when they were acquired by another company cigars international I believe. Before Kevin goes Grammar Nazi, please use the shift key to capitalize.

When you do place your order, whoever it's with, let us know your experience. What tobaccos? What pipes? How were they?

True enough. I've worked in e-commerce for over 10 years now. The amount of fraud that goes on is unbelievable. At one electronics e-tailer I was webmaster at, we rec'd fraudulent orders several times a day. It was a constant battle and we lost more times than I'd like to admit. Even with rigorous checks and double-checks, much to the consternation of our legitimate customers.
So much energy is spent on trying to keep from getting ripped off by crooks that it sometimes becomes easier to just stop shipping internationally. Even if a CC was legit, they'd have tricks to still steal from you.
Then there are the myriad of laws and legal issues that one has to deal with. Sucks big time for all involved.
