Sorry, the only time I smoked EMP was in the 80s when Dunhill was still blending it.

It was actually one of my first blends to try/smoke, it was amazing then, not sure if the Peterson’s blending of it comes close to what Dunhill did back then.
Dunhill hasn’t blended (outside their shop) since the 1970’s. If you smoked it in the 80’s, it was being blended and produced at Murray’s.

At the risk of being pedantic, if @PipeIT was smoking EMP in the 1980s, wouldn't that have been the Murray's production, not Dunhill proper? 🧐
Its mostly been stated here that Dunhill stopped tobacco production in the early 80s. So it could have been either. Point being that he wasn't comparing Peterson to the latest Dunhill iteration so the error would've been assuming that I meant more than that. It's just tobacco so not really a significant issue.

Peterson's is just the name on the tin, it's still made in the same place, same component tobaccos.
I think that name on the tin really confuses people. That just shows the power of branding. Just like sunglasses are all made on the same factory floor in China. Raybans are made right alongside dime store sunglasses, but because of the name on them, people will pay 20X's more for them.

Dunhill was written with the long elongated letters, I should of mentioned that.

Yes, I meant STG, when I said Peterson’s....

It’s always been my understanding, like the second pictured posted of the Nightcap with the elongated letters, Dunhill made tins like this, and later Murray tins had Dunhill written in cursive.

I forgot to mention that if you’re smoking Nightcap in the early mornings and Early Morning Pipe in the evenings (gasp) not only will it taste like hot air, but you could be deported and relocated to the opposite hemisphere to balance out the disequilibrium you are causing! Be careful, dammit! You’re messing with the planet here!
