If I don't feel like smoking I give myself a pep talk, suck it up then, light up and push through the malaise. Smoking isn't for the week. Just like aging one needs to stay tough.

Totally hear you on that one. It took me until I was 26 to realize mustard had no place being on a hamburger.

My favorite hamburgers tend to end up being more of a high protein dessert item, caramelized BBQ sauce all over. Mustard on one of those would absolutely ruin the experience.

Currently having a few days off with a head cold. I smoked 3x as much as I normally do earlier in the week as nothing was working and i really felt like a good pipe...I even smoked some Latakia forward stuff just to try and taste anything ?. Now I realise I was getting sick. Looking forward however to the annual bowl of PA in the morning to usher in IPSD

At times. I use snus throughout the day when I can't smoke. It's more convenient as it's cold here and I can't smoke inside. However, I do smoke at least once a day.

I think it is a good sign that you don't have an addiction problem.

Actually, yes. I hardly smoked at all last year. Summer hit and I spent a lot of time on my motorcycle and kayak. I was also working 3rd shift. Smoking a pipe just seemed like a hassle. Come October, I was back at it. Don't stress. The desire will return.

I don't smoke or drink when I'm upset. They are both enjoyable things that are ruined by a bad mood. I guess it's kinda backwards compared to most people.

I have rheumatoid (if that is the correct term) back pain sometimes. The pain seems to alter my perception of taste and whatever enjoyment I get from stuff like smoking and food and drink. I don't enjoy them as much.

Why do you define smoking as normal and good, such that when you don't want to smoke it is a problem? Maybe smoking is the problem and you not wanting to smoke is reestablishing normalcy?
