Nimrod Lighter Repair - 'Nut and Bolt' Style

Just bought a Nimrod 'nut and bolt' lighter on an auction. paid a fair price for it. it is ~68 years old, so I didnt expect perfect, however the flint is static welded and the striker wheel wont turn. i have tried to remove the flint holder but wont move. Before I start trying to chemically or mechanically remove this 'flint holder'. any one have one with this issue? any good dos/donts??

It is very close to being functioning and i will get it functioning in the end.

Got an unused one back in 2013 for $25 on ebay, and love it. The flint spring screw should just screw out. If frozen, I would try a few drops of lighter fluid.

One of our austin pipe club members is a pro at this and could repair it pretty reasonably.

I had the same problem. Some 3 in 1 oil and a little patience freed things up. I then had to clean the flint wheel with some lighter fluid to remove the oil.
