Hey guys! Just received my next package of tobaccos from the States..trying to decide which to crack open first for a smoke...what would you guys open and smoke first?
Open the square tin. The seals don't last as long on those....
That's the best input I have, as I've not yet tried any of these. Two do live in my cellar, though.
I doubt there's a wrong choice there.
Probably whatever you want at the moment. However, Virginia ages well, whereas Lat can go flat faster when it is aged a few years. Burley and Turkish/Orientals keep pretty well. But if you have a particular hankering, I'd just go for it. If we're just talking a year or two, I wouldn't worry about the square tins, but that's just my notion.
Latakia does not lose its flavor in a few years! And there's anecdotal evidence saying it can be fine after twenty. (And it's all anecdotal, just depends on who's doing the dotaling!)
And I agree with the two preceding posts except for the latakia comment.
At the end of the day you and you alone will decide which to open first so bit of a pointless question really.
Would you ask the forum what colour shirt you should wear next Friday
Just open them all up and enjoy them then write up a review of each would be my suggestion.
Regards,
Jay.
