onestrangeone, I don't see the new smoking buddy, and you don't describe her. I think she may be a dog, cat, or bird, but I don't know that. I am a compulsive nominator of names for peoples' pets, and I'd be happy to offer a few, but I think I have to know who or what I am naming.
It's like naming a baby. It's hard to hit a name that clicks with the new "parent," but I always like to try. When I name my own animals, I make a list that goes on and on. One of my favorite names was for a big orange tabby cat that looked like a cougar that I named Linwood. It fit him, and he responded to it immediately.

Well first let me ask, are you the only human in the household? The sole decider of the name?
Yeah, the one and only. My last dog was Kaokata, the cats are Jazz, Avo and Fat Cat. Jazz is going to have to take his last car ride either this weekend or next.
