Congrats Allan! That one is a beauty! I am sure it will smoke wonderfully for you. Be careful though, as Harris said. They will ruin you for all other pipes.

Thanks guys
I have really become a rad Davis fan.
My plan is to have the American artisan pipes to be for va and va/pers and the English (Dunhill Upshall etc) for Englush blends
It just makes it easier to remember which tobacco goes where

Wow, that's a beauty. One of these days I'll go for something like that, you know when the kids are grown up and stop costing me so much........what's that.....they don't ever stop costing you money? Crap. Love the colour combo.

Great looking pipe. I haven't "ruined" my other pipes by going RAD yet, but I'm looking forward to it.

Very sweet. Lots of Radmania on the forum recently. A stellar looking pipe. I want one just like that.
I wish that bastard Harris had told me about it!

peck, sorry buddy but if you paid me what Allen does for mentoring then I would have told you. :nana:

Seriously we were texting back and forth when I got the email so I naturally told him, plus you already have a bunch of Rad's and Allan is just beginning his collection and he needs to catch up.

Well guys, truth is my pipe collection is growing. This is my second Rad and I'm smoking the first one I had purchased at the NY Pipe club right now. I will have another one of his that is on commission coming 2nd week of June.
There is something about the way these are built that I just can't describe very well. The pipe bowls are thick, but the entire pipe is not heavy. The button is extremely pronounced which is great for a clencher and it just feels great on my tongue. It smokes so easily I can sip without any struggle whatsoever.
The pipe smokes dry and it is so easy to run a pipe cleaner through when necessary wihtout any effort that I find with Dunhills.
My original favorites are Dunhills, but Rad's pipes are just...great.
I'm sure there are many other great American artisans out there as shown by Big Van in his complete review of the Chicago pipe show, but its really hard for one to know exactly 'when' they have reached this degree of excellence, at least for me with limited knowledge.
