Greetings and welcome from a former resident of Chester, CT. 
Incidentally, my most vivid memories of pipe smoking in Connecticut (and New England in general) largely involve being asked/told curtly to go somewhere else ... even when I was smoking outside. Glad you're keeping the faith up there!

Thanks ! I know what you mean ! I still don't understand how the woke abhor cigarettes, cigars and pipes but light up a joint or crack and that's perfectly fine to them. Although at a red light two weeks ago a guy next to me rolled down his window and said "I haven't seen someone smoke a pipe in thirty years !' Maybe he meant you ??!! Not sure of the type of tobacco. It was in a small leather pouch. The really cool part of the story is that the pipe was about 100 years old. It was made out of a long wooden stem and a bowl carved out of rock shaped like an eagle head.
It belong to the Chiefs great grandfather. It was quite an elaborate ceremony. They had a medicine man and another elder from the tribe there. They sang some songs and as they filled the pipe he would sprinkle some tobacco out of this hand to all four cardinal directions.
My wife and I grow a herb garden for cooking and I also purchase herbs from Mountain Rose herbs out of Oregon to make tinctures and tea. I was aware of the healing properties of Mullein, but have not ever used it.
