Thanks ! I know what you mean ! I still don't understand how the woke abhor cigarettes, cigars and pipes but light up a joint or crack and that's perfectly fine to them. Although at a red light two weeks ago a guy next to me rolled down his window and said "I haven't seen someone smoke a pipe in thirty years !' Maybe he meant you ??!! Keep the Faith !Greetings and welcome from a former resident of Chester, CT.
Incidentally, my most vivid memories of pipe smoking in Connecticut (and New England in general) largely involve being asked/told curtly to go somewhere else ... even when I was smoking outside. Glad you're keeping the faith up there!

Not sure of the type of tobacco. It was in a small leather pouch. The really cool part of the story is that the pipe was about 100 years old. It was made out of a long wooden stem and a bowl carved out of rock shaped like an eagle head.Did they smoke tobacco or some plant in the peace pipe? Some Indians used to smoke Mullein which acts as a bronchial dialator but you have to shave the fibers off the leaves and dry it. I tried it once and it does work ... really opens up the lungs ... but I do not recommend this ... I was an older teen at the time.
Mullein is a plant used to make medicine. Some people take mullein by mouth for breathing conditions such as cough or asthma, pneumonia, colds, and sore throat. But there is limited scientific research to support these and other uses. It is alos used in the manufacture of alcohol as a flavoring. The Indians discovered Mullein first !
Hello my friendHello, I am a new member from New England. I have been a pipe smoker of and on for over 35 yrs. I only have 15 pipes - mostly Petersons and Savinellis from the 60's and 70s and a few others. I generally prefer milder aromatics. I wish to thank the members for the education and some problem solutions I have received in the last few months reading some of the forums. What a great site. Best wishes to all.
