Known for its use of Semois leaf — a Burley varietal grown in Belgium's Ardennes Valley — Tabac Manil here presents their fourth pipe tobacco blend, La Volute. Like the La Brumeuse blend, La Volute consists purely of Semois tobacco but is cut more like a crumble cake rather than a ribbon. Such a cut makes for a more rustic blend that highlights different characteristics of the leaf and offers a longer smoking time than Tabac Manil's more finely cut blends.

Just ordered 4x of this stuff. And now we wait... Kinda excited about this. Really looking forward to see how it compares and contrasts with their other blends.

I have a love hate with this stuff - I saw this up for sale the other day - it's so expensive for what it is - This stuff can go bad too - it's happened to me - It has that 'semois' flavor but it's just a simple tobacco - I'd liken it to a Hollywood celebrity that seems great, acts great, great looking but after meeting you find to be mediocre at best. Vincent is a great hype-man and after that NYtimes article things went haywire- I just can't justify it - and yet I am contemplating buying a brick because I miss that pefume aroma. It's like a long lost cologne that you'd wear when you were dating cute young gals - but you finally realize - things have changed and those days are long gone and water under the bridge
