In the semi-rural NorthEastern USA
Budweiser's beer is "aged" ( for just 19 Day’s ) in stainless steel barrels with some beech chips on the bottom.
A warm welcome from Rotterdam.
sterilized beech chips at that. That process doesn't really change the flavor but all the flimflam and particles get stuck to the beech wood clarifying the beer. Or at least that's the probably not correct thing I've heard. Though I'am sure the part about it not being as impressive as it sounds holds up well.

I'll second what mso said about a MM cob. I'm smoking a MM Charles Towne Cobbler now, and it's one of my favorites.

That looks like a nice display piece, it just needs a few friends that will be smokeable! Cobs and briars would be a good start, neither of these options have to break the bank.
