Welcome aboard from central North Carolina, where a typical greeting is "hey!" Beechwood is probably okay. Not long ago, one of the online retailers had Stanwell pipes (a reputable Danish brand now made in Italy) in beechwood. If you decide to buy another tobacco pipe, I'd suggest a briar pipe made by one of the major brands, or a Missouri Meerschaum corncob pipe, especially the special editions with acrylic stems that wear better than the usual soft plastic stems. Owning a few pipes is a good plan anyway.

Interesting. Is that a wooden stem? I’m not saying anything bad about your pipe, smoke what you like... just a fair warning. There are a lot of pretty and flashy pipes out there, made out of all kinds of woods, all over the price spectrum. I bought one on Amazon when I was just starting out, I thought it looked like what people were paying $600 plus on Danish pipes and here I was getting this bad ass pipe for 12 bones! Turns out the pipe was complete shite! Like literally, it’s was a polished turd. So yeah, just be cautious when buying, especially pipes made from uncommon woods and sources. The shit pipe I bought was a pear wood pipe. Not saying all pear wood pipes are bad, just saying the one I got was.

Budweiser's beer is "aged" ( for just 19 Day’s ) in stainless steel barrels with some beech chips on the bottom.
