Can someone explain to me what these codes mean? Are these just the numbers C&D puts on their tobacco, or official classifications?

With some possible returns such as Squadron Leader w/ Perique, Cringle Flake, The Haunting, and others coming up, I’m undecided at this point. However, I have completely hoarded the original Carolina Red Flake because I like it so much.

It’s the lot number on that particular grade of red Virginia tobacco that C&D used to make Carolina Red Flake for the 16’-19’ batches. I really like the Cringle Flake too. their Crumble Kake Red Virginia is almost the same, and I love that.

I love Red Va’s, but I smoke at a glacial pace. @mso489 and I should have a glaciation contest someday. I admitted my limitations and only bought 5 tins, and this is the first time I’ve taken the bait on CRF. If it’s awesome... you’re welcome. I left many tins out there for some of you! ?

Picked up a couple myself, but not sure if I'm going to open one right away or not. I will probably wait and see what all of you think first, regarding ok out of the tin, or aging a bit first.

I picked up a couple dozen. Plan on cracking one immediately and comparing it to the 2015 crop versions. I've got the CRF w/perique as well but don't know how useful that comparison would be with the perique in that blend.

It’s too bad that you can buy 25 tins per day, with it only being 10,000 tins released... for a small batch, they should put a cap of 5 tins per person, per day, so a lot more people are able to try it.

I took the bait and bought 2 tins. Crossing my fingers. I took the bait when Sun Bear came out and wasn't all that impressed.

It's always released a few weeks later at other online shops so I assume everyone who wants to hear reviews before buying will have a chance, even if it's sold out at Smoking Pipes.
