Repairing and reattaching the silver band. I did my best buck all the dents and dings out with a very small polished hammer, I got most of em out. I was going to sliver solder it back together. I ultimately decided against it as the band is paper thin and I don’t have any low temp silver solder paste. I elected to epoxy it back on to the bit as to minimize the amount of further damage to it. It turned out pretty well I think. I’ll shine it up later today.019B6D0F-003A-4C6A-B23E-777F312856D7.jpegE32EDFBB-668A-4E4D-B455-6A5EB944725D.jpegD176B089-7051-47E7-9512-72460A064235.jpegC98422CB-4A7D-4DEE-BB4F-3AFA08B31080.jpegC5832C9F-DD37-429B-ABBC-DB9FBD3B2F2D.jpeg

That was a delicate operation with admirable results. You seem to have a depth of experience restoring Meers.

An SS100 is my number two dream bike, a close second to a big tank Crocker. I was very close to buying a 65 G85 a while back but it was in pretty bad shape and I don’t need another project, I’ve been restoring a 39 Indian scout for several years now. I have a few XS650 (the Japanese Triumph )and a couple of old CB360’s for the wife.
I spotted the xs650 cylinder head and valve covers in one of the above pictures. The engine in my avitar picture is a xs650 bored and stroked to 880 cc in a 1982 EML motocross chassis, that I raced in classic motocross

great work by the way

Thanks! Love the XS side hack racer! That looks like loads of fun, they’re great motors!

Outstanding sir! Thanks for taking the time to document the process, much appreciated. If you had filmed the entire process I think we'd all have watched every second...*hint hint ;)
Amazing. 👏👏👏
