Maybe 3 or 4 times each. That’s all times I’ve smoked them. How many times has this happen with each Sav and with each non-briar? And what are the non-briars?
Yes my first briars. Others are ozark, corn cobs and imbuia wood.I’m inclined to think it might be the tobacco ad well. But you mention that these are your first briars? Also could be that the other pipes (what are they?) are absorbing something that the briars arent, hence the irritation from more of whatever irritant is getting through. Tou might try the balsa filter especially until the briars are broken in.
Have you tried smoking something other than Amphora Original in the Savs?Maybe 3 or 4 times each. That’s all times I’ve smoked them.
The others include corn cob, ozark and Imbuia (Brazilian wood)
Yes, that’s when all the trouble began. When I smoked my usual rotation in the savs and in my old ones at the same time.Have you tried smoking something other than Amphora Original in the Savs?
Ah, yes, I see you already said that in your original post. I guess if I were you, I would try to break the Savs in some more. Maybe treat the bowls with some honey if the mouth feels really bad. Tell us what you do and good luck!Yes, that’s when all the trouble began. When I smoked my usual rotation in the savs and in my old ones at the same time.
Sip here, sip there, and testing.
Yeah I’ll keep firing them up! Let’s see what happens.Ah, yes, I see you already said that in your original post. I guess if I were you, I would try to break the Savs in some more. Maybe treat the bowls with some honey if the mouth feels really bad. Tell us what you do and good luck!
I was 100% sure it was the burley from the amphora.Burley is tricky. I overlook it because I like burley in most blends or as a single leaf. But people react differently. Some dislike it; some throw up. Some can't taste it. Some only like it sparingly in blends. Etc. So you may be allergic. Bear in mind, burley is the base in many blends, or a condiment, in over-the-counter and/or aromatic blends. I enjoy Amphora Burley, but that's me.
There’s probably still some remnants of that Burley in the pipe. I’d give it a good cleaning with some hot water and then smoke something different in it. ?I was 100% sure it was the burley from the amphora.
But then I packed with my usual blends and happened again, so it doesn’t make sense to me.
Well, time will tell. I’ll keep smoking those bastards...
I’ll try to do that also. There’s probably still some remnants of that Burley in the pipe. I’d give it a good cleaning with some hot water and then smoke something different in it. ?
it's not hard and fast but I've noticed a tendency for that and especially noticed that often the worst it is new the better it is broken in. Again my Peterson was only a few steps down from fresh too hot pizza roof of mouth removal, now it's great and gentle.A new pipe will sometimes smoke searing hot until it's broken in. I've damn near burned my mouth on new pipes.. even really expensive nice ones.
I've even had handmades unleash a mouthful of flaming hot steam. sometimes it just takes some smokes to get past it.it's not hard and fast but I've noticed a tendency for that and especially noticed that often the worst it is new the better it is broken in. he speaks the truth.I've even had handmades unleash a mouthful of flaming hot steam. sometimes it just takes some smokes to get past it.
Is that possible even if the pipe feels cold in the hand and I’m smoking slowly?A new pipe will sometimes smoke searing hot until it's broken in. I've damn near burned my mouth on new pipes.. even really expensive nice ones.
yes it can. it's because there is no carbon coat in the chamber. Is that possible even if the pipe feels cold in the hand and I’m smoking slowly?
I wonder if it can smoke hot while not feeling hot.
