I have a good bit of Alex Grey and other psychedelic art in my room...luckily the Mrs. and I share some pretty eclectic tastes. I feel like a portrait of an animal smoking a pipe might be the missing element... cheers!!

That is some painting. I have never seen it before. It has an Edward Hopper quality to it in both theme and the light

We have a sword mounted over our bed. During our honeymoon, 20+ years ago, we found a sword for about $20. She wanted it for the "knight in shining armor" affect.

+1 to your wife. Not crazy about the artwork as it is, and it seems like an odd vibe for the bedroom. Maybe a frame would help? Personally I’d try to find something that hangs horizontally to follow the flow the fireplace.

The fireplace and bottles/glasses give me a 70s swinger kind of vibe. I can imagine Larry from Threes Company having a similar setup in his bedroom, or maybe Quagmire from Family Guy. I mean that as a compliment. I’m feeling it.

I love dachshunds, although they will definitely dominate most owners intellectually. I don't much like animals in clothes or with human props, especially since there are so many superb animal photographs that capture their actual dignity and character. My cats enjoy watching my pipe smoke, but would never be caught smoking.

I think it's incredibly stupid and I love it. It reminds me of one of my favorite shirts I own. Which has a pug smoking a bent billard. That is something I would hang in my home bar if I had one (bar not a home, got a home). That is awesome but I can see the wives point on it.
