Never had a problem with a Peterson pipe

Here's an image of a pipe similar to the one I got in Chicago at Iwan Ries. The bowl is more of a standard billiard shape, and is brown.

I searched the Pete site, but came up with butkus on Roundstones. From SP: Shape is similar but finish quite different.

I have had a couple of bad Petes, but it's ridiculous to think that writing a comment about it is the same as bashing. I have thin skin for other thin skinned pipesmokers, ha ha. ::

Cosmic, don't recall seeing anything you've posted as "bashing." I believe I've taken an objective view of the brand in this thread, acknowledging when and where some of their pipes have gone wrong. I merely intended to add positive experiences to balance it out a tad as it seems some folks here are much quicker to chime in negatively about the brand than they are positively, sometimes with admitted little personal experience with them, which may give those with little experience with them an unduly and perhaps distortedly negative overall impression of the brand denying themselves some perfectly lovely pipes in the bargain. :wink:

Eh, this is a very opinionated group. I am a self-admitted Virginia snob, but there are some things that I like and do, that gets criticism from the masses. Royal Yacht used to be one of them, till Deathmetal repeatedly posted songs and psalms to it's merits.

If you love it, just sing its glory. And, just let the negativity fall off like water on a duck. Honestly, I would never buy a Pete again, but on the other-hand, I have become way more snobbish about what pipes I do buy than I used to be, ha ha. But, on the bright side, I am old. ::

I don't have a Peterson yet. But after reading this I may buy one if I can put my hands on it and inspect it first.

I have a 05 Dalkey gifted to me a few years ago. A little high on the draft hole but smokes just fine after the initial break in.

Yes it is. I have additional Pete's but those are the ones I smoke.
