My wonderful friend and neighbor gave me her Grandfather’s pipes that hadn’t seen the light of day for decades. She said her grandfather died before she was born (52 years old now) but she had pictures of him always with a pipe in hand. What a great gift! She knows I enjoy my pipes and wanted them to be used and appreciated. Yes Ma’am, mission accepted.
The corn cob is Missouri Meerschaum and absolutely enormous, as is the WDC (the smaller WDC on the right is mine just for comparison). The Indian is stamped “Made in Italy, Italian Briar” and the billiard is Stamped “Brewster, Imported Briar”.
All in good shape and will clean up easily. Must have been in a drawer because there’s very little oxidation for being stored over 50 years!
The cob is just freaking HUGE. Must take a quarter tin of tobacco each time. The bowl is 5-1/2” tall and the stem is 11” long. I had no idea that MM made anything that size. Would love to know the model number/name of that one.
