So I’ve been smoking a pipe for maybe a couple months. I have a small can from Bennington tobacconist labeled “60”.
I hadn’t tried it as it was square strips in a bag I didn’t know what to do with. It has a sweet smell but couldn’t find any info online about it. So I rolled some between my palms to break it up and let it dry a couple minutes before packing it.
It was kind of a boring flavor for the most part but that could just be my inexperience. Either way, as I smoked through it I had found pockets of sour smoke I guess. It was like a sourness on the edges of my tongue. I actually liked that, but I have no idea if it’s meant to be that way or not. I tend to lean towards English and aromatic blends and haven’t been very excited about the blends with mostly burley.
So does anyone know what I’m describing and is that on purpose? I don’t know how old the can is.

Sound's like one of their house brands but the only flake they show is Pirate's Gold which is actually coin cut.

You could try giving them a call.

It’s a different brand name but the first review sounds similar to what it was like. It was lightly sticky like it had something on it and the tart lemon sounds about right.
a lot of times stores will sell bulk under their house name. You know just in a jar near the counter. It's just one of those things. So the differing name on the bag means nothing if bought from bulk.

This one is from a small can with the branding and everything. I do however find it interesting how the world of tobacco is like the Wild West like that.
Ultimately I don’t care what is specific to this blends as it was not my favorite. I haven’t had any Virginia blends with this tangy sourness, but if that’s a regular thing, I can just look more into those.

I got them on the phone just after they had sent me a reply.

Lane Limited- Golden Cavendish slices
Lane Limited , Blend is with Golden Cavendish slices . Contents are Cavendish, Virginia. Its cut is Broken Flake.

So the 60 was golden cavendish from lane limited. Now my question is, is that a typical golden cavendish flavor?
