I went to lunch with a friend of mine. We were in the restaurant for less than an hour and someone busted the window in his car and stole my backpack. Inside was my Ipad and my pipe bag. I'm more upset about the pipes. I had my Nording Bear gifted me by Bradley, a Peterson Deluxe Plip System, a Neerup cherrywood, and my favortie pipe, my WW2 era Pete Shamrock. Plus my custom tamper made by Ed. And my Xikar Scribe. I'm posting pics in case any of you guys see these pop up on ebay in the near future. I don't have a pic of the the deluxe, but here are the others. The first pic is the Neerup, the second is the Nording, and the third pic 2nd pipe from the left above the big lion is my Pete. Keep an eye out guys, thanks, Dave!

I've been burglarized; it's pretty enraging. The good part is, neither you nor your family or friends

were hurt. When I travel, I hide a few select pipes at home. I wouldn't want to lose any pipes, but

I'd want something to smoke if someone scooped them up and threw them in a piece of empty

luggage, the way they do. Except for really high end pipes, handled by a really high end fence

(buyer and seller of stolen property) I don't think the thieves can get much. Ebay would be risky

exposure, and the usual street crowd isn't going to pay much for tobacco pipes. But maybe five

bucks a pop, might add up. Your backpack was supposed to have firearms and drugs, so you

got him there.

If it happened where I work, I would send your iPad serial number to Apple in a subpoena or court order. They can tell the police if there is a new iTunes account assigned to your device. I have had a fair amount of success. Check trash cans/dumpsters around and if you were near a freeway, drive it both directions. You might find your back pack and pipes. I doubt the thieves are happy to have them. Oh, one more thing. Don't keep your valuables in plain sight in your car! Best

Check the pawn shops in the area. They might end up there. They might have just thrown them out as well. A friend kept his wargaming miniatures in a gun case and when his car was broken into the thieves opened the case and when they found it was full of toy they tossed it in the dumpster. He found the case laying right on top.

That really sucks, shaintiques. I'll ditto the suggestion to look around the area to see if the culprit jettisoned the backpack, pipe bag, etc. We had our car broken into years ago, and a few items turned up in the trash nearby...

I would love to catch a turd doing that. I'd probably need a bonding company before it was over, but what pure joy it would be. Really sorry for your loss. Been there, done that. Don't want that t-shirt.

Sorry to hear of your loss. My house was burglarized back in the '90s and I had several one-of-a-kind items stolen so I certainly feel your pain. Hopefully your pipes will be found and returned to you and the person or persons responsible held accountable.
